Club Waters, 1

Day one, fishing

Mill View fishery, Blyton.
A decent day on the bankside. Lots of roach and skimmers. Les and i both fished the waggler, fishing the margins again, very tight to the reeds, perilous if you get a carp, LoL. Les late turned to floating bread tactics on the pole, however this time the carp did not take the bait. I then went onto floating dog biscuits, got one carp of about 3lbs or so. The fishing died off so we decided to pack up. We then went for a carvery at a local pub, NO BEER passed my lips i hasten to ad. Our bellies full we decided to visit another venue. This time we opted for Trent haven. Les got a nice car of about 4lbs, i blanked,LoL. We called it a day at around 6.45pm and headed for Les abode and a nice hot shower. Oh and a couple of beers.

Day Two

Back to Trent Haven, and what a diffrence the weather was. We arrived at 6.45am and set up. The weather looked very angry come 9,30am or so. We both got a few roach and then the heavens opened up, torrential rain came down, followed by high winds. Our pegs were in a slight dip so the rain cascaded down the bankside. The weather got worse by lunchtime, i think Les and i sent each other a telepathic message, we both jumped up at the same time mumbling, " THATS IT " time to go. We hastily packed the tackle into the car and set of for hme. It was great to get out of the wet clothes and into the red hot shower, Bliss.

Day three

We went to Dunholme today, met up with Bob, our club mate. The weather, well lets just say it was a complete turnaround from the previous day, hot and sunny. We got there before Bob which in itself is unusual, Bob is an early bird,LoL.
Again i fished the feeder, got a goot count of roach and skimmers. All on red maggot.
A little Robin soon realised that there might be a free lunch on the go, and he let me know he/she was hungry. The Robin sat on my landing net handle and started to whistle, how could i refuse such a nice little thing.

Day Four.

Today we went to a commercial !!!! yes a commercial, it came recommended to us. We met up with Bob and Alec. However the days fishing was very poor. I had a few good sized roach and nothing else. The place was a caravan site with a fishing pond, a great set up, hook up facilities with a shwer block just up the way by 2 or 3 minutes walk. A nice bar which serves food. Welton Fishing Centre LINK
I looed around when i heard a very powerful engine approaching, and what a sight, just imagine this as your fishing vehicle, aint it grand.

Me being me i decided to go and have a look, with the owners permission of course, real leather chars for the driver and passenger, they were extremely plush. A full leather suit inside the vehicle, all mod cons and even a satalite TV.

We called it a day at about 3.30pm.

Day five

Thornto Abbey, a cracking venue. We got the " point pegs " because the place was void of any more anglers. Back to work after the bank holiday week end. I fished the groundbait feeder with red and white maggots, My first cast resulted in a cracking roach. More and more came to my bait. In all i must have had the 50 mark, i did count 6 roach in an half hour at one time. The rain started very lightly but turned rather nasty. We got packed up and loaded just in time, yet again the heavens opened up.

Another great week spent fishing with Les on our club waters, and another week making new chums. Thanks again Les for your hospitality.
